Social responsibility
JFK: Community investment
We employ a local work force of over 110 staff members, 60 of which work at our manufacturing facility and a further 50 in our retail stores. As owners of one of last few remaining clothing factories in the country we are proud to be able to offer employment to over 100 women & men who in turn are able to support their own immediate & extended families. This is a valuable link that encourages job security & contributes positively within the local community.
We have always believed that building long term meaningful & respectful relationships with employees, suppliers and communities is good business practice. This not only re-inforces our work ethic, it is what our clients know they can expect of us.
The business of JFK is not only about the bottom line, but about responsibility too.
The Environment:
In our retail stores, HQ and manufacturing facility we are committed to operating in a way that is mindful of the demands placed on our planet's limited resources.
We aim to create the following:
Environmental awareness & respect for nature: We promote environmental awareness among our employees and suppliers in our day-to day operations. We encourage consideration for nature by exercising caution in every possible process that runs within the business.
Efficient use of resources: We strive to use resources as efficiently as possible and to minimise waste. We follow the rule “reduce, re-use & re-cycle”. JFK packaging is manufactured using a percentage of re-cycled material.
Charity - Underprivileged animals
At JFK HQ homeless kittens are regularly fostered from as little as 3 days old. Lots of love, care and attention is lavished on these little guys until at the age of 8 weeks they are adopted by equally loving & generous parents.
Needless to say, rearing little homeless kittens & providing them with the best veterinary care is quite a costly affair, and as such, the bulk of our charity funding is allocated to kitten care.
